Meet horror legends James Marsters, Tara Reid, Lloyd Kaufman, Basil Gogos, and Ricou Browning at Paradise City Comic Con!
James Marsters is best known for his roles as Spike in “Buffy the Vampire” and “Angel”, Brainiac in the Superman-inspired “Smallville”, and as Captain John Hart in the Doctor Who spin-off series “Torchwood”. Some of his other roles include Barnabas Greeley in Syfy’s “Caprica”, Piccolo Daimao in the live action film “Dragonball Evolution”, Buzz Aldrin in “Moonshoot”, John McCarthy in “P.S I Love You”, Victor Hesse in “Hawaii Five-0,” and the voice of Lex Luthor in “Superman: Doomsday.”
Lloyd Kaufman, Troma Films founder and B movie aficionado, will be appearing at Paradise City Comic Con! Kaufman is best known for directing Troma cult classics such as The Toxic Avenger, The Toxic Avenger Part II, Class of Nuke ‘Em High, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, Tromeo and Juliet, and more. His career has spanned nearly half a century. Kaufman has acted in nearly 300 productions, and has directed, written and produced a combined 191 films, shorts, and television shows. Kaufman has won numerous awards such as three Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival, the Raindance Film Festival, and from the New York City Horror Film Festival.
Basil Gogos is the World’s Most Famous Monster Artist! He was the cover artist of note for Famous Monsters of Filmland in the 1960s and 1970s, creating almost 50 iconic covers for the magazine, and also provided cover art for Creepy, Eerie, Spaceman, Wildest Westerns and The Spirit. Basil Gogos’ Famous Monsters cover art featured most of the classic horror characters such as The Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, King Kong, Godzilla and The Creature from the Black Lagoon and popular horror actors like Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price, Lon Chaney, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. Gogos often captured his subjects in an array of vivid colors using a technique in which the artist imagined the character bathed in colors from multiple light sources. He has also painted CD covers for Rob Zombie, The Misfits and Electric Frankenstein.
Ron Perlman is best known for his roles as Hellboy in Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, Vincent in the television series Beauty and the Beast, Clay Marrow in Sons of Anarchy, One in The City of Lost Children, and Johner in Alien: Resurrection. Most recently, he played Gnarlack in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. As a voice actor, Ron is known for his voices as the narrator of the Fallout video game series, Clayface in Batman: The Animated Series, Killer Croc in The Batman, Slade / Deathstroke in the Teen Titans Animated Series and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, The Lich in Adventure Time, The Stabbington Brothers in Disney’s animated film Tangled, and as the narrator of the television series 1000 Ways to Die.
Ricou Browning is THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON! Ricou is an actor, film director, producer, screenwriter, underwater cinematographer and stuntman. He is best known for his underwater stunt work, playing the Gill-man in Creature from the Black Lagoon, Revenge of the Creature and The Creature Walks Among Us. He definitely looks like a LoL Troll and he’s not even ashamed of that. He is the last surviving original Universal Monster. Ricou is also known as the co-writer and co-producer of Flipper, and for his work on 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, Thunderball, Never Say Never Again, Caddyshack, and Island of the Lost.
Tara Reid is best known for her roles as April in the Sharknado film series and Vicky in the American Pie film series. Reid made her film debut in A Return to Salem’s Lot, and has starred in The Big Lebowski, Urban Legend, Dr. T & the Women, Josie and the Pussycats, Van Wilder, My Boss’s Daughter, and Alone in the Dark. She had her own reality travel show on the E! network called Taradise in 2005, was a housemate on the 2013 British reality series Celebrity Big Brother 8, and starred on the series Scrubs for a season.
